Hello All!
How do I find you all today? hopefully, well and happy. Today I am writing about the SUN Tarot card. It is one of the most beautiful of the Tarot Deck. The most positive element being that this card is always about the word YES. If you want to know an answer and receive this card, be assured that the Sun is confirming a very bright outlook.
As you know if you are a regular reader I have been writing about the Major Arcana in respect of our Journey of Life and how those cards personally appear to me. Of course others will have different views but I have the prospective that each card really does take you through your life and represents various periods of it. The rest of the cards that I have written so far are on the link below.
TAROT - THE JOURNEY OF LIFE EXPLORATORY
We have been on quite a journey from the Fool. We have followed a path of lessons, trials, tribulations, emotions, pitfalls - isnt life just full of each of those things? We have just left the Moon card which gave us a lot to think about - and we now hit the Sun card. The Moon taught us that we dont know everything. Pretty great since we had to go through so much ?? huh! do we ever get to feel we can trust our experience in life if we have to face the Moon card after all we have been through? yes, because unless we face things we learn nothing! we should be pretty much clued in at this stage. We should realise that we cant trust everything and we should have learnt that we do need to be cautious about some things, discerning and weigh things up before decisions are made. We should not jump to conclusions but use our experience to work out whether some things are just illusions or not. We learn that we are all human and we cannot always make sense of everything and that we can still be fooled. We learn that we have to smarten up our senses but we also learn that we cannot be naive too. Those are just a few things to remember, but after all that we come to the SUN.
In the true sense of the Sun we bask in its rays. It makes us feel good. It makes everything grow, it gives the whole world a different feel. Compare a grey rainy day to a day of sunshine. The contrast is amazing. It is like living in two different worlds, two sets of colours. The Sun has the ability of throwing a whole new fresh prospective on life. What seemed so draining or miserable suddenly seems less a burden. The Sun seems to banish the negative sides of whatever is going on. We can feel so good in the sunshine. We can feel so FREE. When the Sun comes out, what do people do? they take off restrictive clothing and lie on the beach, or go for beautiful walks, or go and do the garden and all the other pastimes that the Sun allows. We really do feel FREE - its SUCH a wonderful change to rain, or cold days, or colourless days. In short? it makes us feel GOOD!
Everything that represents life in the Sun is depicted on the Sun card. We feel young depicted by the naked child on the horse and the freedom is represented by that nakedness. We are throwing off our restrictive clothing , we are surrounded by Sunflowers, flowers and the garden and even though there is a wall nothing is going to stop us breaking free and feeling free. Red banners or flags could really represent cautions but we are really throwing those off as well because we actually feel secure in ourselves, we feel such a sense of liberation, we really just dont care! It is like seeing a possible weather report suggesting rain but as its so sunny we are not going to give or pay it any attention. The horse represents freedom too but also Travel. The garden represents home in a manner. Family, travel trips and a sense of freedom are very strong in this card.
We get to this point in life where perhaps we just think ' hell to it' we know there are always going to be some problems, some cautions, always maybe going to be some problems ahead, but we are pretty experienced now. We might have our families, our homes, maybe we do go on vacation, maybe we have learnt to allow ourselves to free up from daily concerns and enjoy life a bit. There are always going to be problems ANYWAY, we cant spend life being ultra serious and never allow ourselves some peace of mind. We just allow ourselves enjoyment, we appreciate a lot of things in life perhaps, we have experienced ups and downs, we have worked hard perhaps, we might even be getting older and want to live a little, we might have done well and want to be a little extravagant. It is all about allowing ourselves some freedom. Perhaps freedom from burdens which we know are always there but we are not allowing them to overwhelm us.
This card to me is about APPRECIATION OF LIFE. Look at that Sun, look at those flowers, look how bright this card is. Looking at it just makes a heart feel good and glad. It should. It is the Sun card and without the sun it would be very dull, life would be dull, nothing would grow nothing would prosper. It brings joy in our life to see the Sun racing up and bathing the ground with its light and enhancing the beautiful colours of the world .
After a long hard winter, that first day of Sunshine is just a breath of fresh air. The first time you can get your washing on the line. Ladies, isnt it fantastic to get it all dry - to smell the washing powder and freshner in the air. Not that we adore housework eh ? But Im sure you know what I mean. The first cut of the grass, the smell of the mown grass, seeing the children out playing in the garden, watching our pets rolling around and sunbathing. They love it too even if they should only have short periods of sunblast. IT ALL JUST FEELS SO GOOD.
There are many meanings to this card in respect of a reading. It does depend where it falls, it does depend on the subject matter but in our life Journey it is a feeling of ' well life is not so bad...a time to count blessings amid the problems. A time to realise there are others worse off then you, a time to be grateful for all we have even if it turns out to be small blessings. The Sun can make the smallest thing still seem wonderful. Its a card that says ' well despite it all, things are not so bad'. A time to appreciate all you have, your gift of life.
The Sun IS life. Without it we would not be here. None of us are really 'free' per se, but we break shackles with all the restrictive thinking even momentarily when the sun shines down on us. Appreciation, the feeling of positivity (whether something is positive or not) the Sun will cast a different light on whatever seems shabby or dull. It is a time to be THANKFUL for all you have. The sun reflects everything back, we also reflect on our lives when the Sun comes out to play. We think about many things, and mostly we try to see the positive side because the Sun encourages us to do exactly that. There is a downside to this card as all have their 'reversals' but thats for another part of our series, we must remember that there is such a thing as 'sunburn' after all! but for the moment? lets reflect on all that is good and be glad of that!
Join me next for the Judgement card.
Until then, you can backcheck the cards on this link.
