Above  are links to a very harrowing story which involves a young man who is a singing sensation currently appearing on the X-Factor.   Jahmene has without doubt, a superb world class voice which stunned me when I heard it.  It is very rare to uncover this kind of raw talent and I do think he has completely amazed people in the UK. 

However, in the last week stories have been unravelling in the press about Jahmene's background that have revealed a very traumatic background and one which I know affects many people not just in the UK but also around the world.  Jahmene's mother has a blog that focus's on domestic violence and she herself has been a victim of this.   Sometimes its very hard for anyone to open up about this and it takes a great deal of courage to do so.   Reading Mandy and Jahmene's story will surely affect many people who themselves have been in the same situation.

Though I write for Missing Children I am fully aware of situations like these and though I do not wish to go into any details I do understand how domestic violence in families can affect a life.  In Mandy and Jahmene's case, Mandy lost a son and Jahmene a brother.  I know their story will in some way be a hand that reaches out to others who have been in that situation or are still within it.  I hope Mandy's blog is able to help you.
