A McDowell County man is home safe and sound Saturday morning after
being reported missing on Thursday.
Ernie Blankenship's son told McDowell County 911 on Saturday that his
father turned up and says he had been camping in the Panther State
Forest.
Three fire departments searched the area around Blankenship's home in
Gary on Thursday and Friday, until conflicting stories caused them
tohaltt their search.
The Gary Police Chief says he is just happy Blankenship is home safe.
