Police are growing increasingly concerned for a man who went missing after a New Year’s Eve party in Stockport.
Michael Simpson, aged 22 and from Reddish, was last seen at 2am on 1 January 2013 as he attended a house party on Stockport Road West in Bredbury with friends.
A short time later, Michael became separated from his friends and left the house, but has not been seen since.
Michael is described as slim build, around 5ft 6in tall, with light brown hair and blue eyes, and wears black framed glasses.
At the time of his disappearance, Michael was wearing a black V-neck jumper with a white T-shirt underneath, blue jeans and white trainers.
Detective Inspector Julia Bowden from Stockport CID said: “Michael has never been missing before and as people can imagine, his family and friends are absolutely beside themselves with worry that Michael has not returned from his night out.
“Officers are working to piece together Michael’s movements in the lead up to his disappearance and we are appealing for anyone that may have seen him in the early hours of New Year’s Day to get in touch with us.
“You may think your information is only trivial, but it could be vital to our investigation.”

A man who has not been seen since he vanished from a New Year's Eve party text his girlfriend that he was "At a river. No idea where to go from here" moments before she lost contact with him.
Police today released the haunting last picture of Michael Simpson with partner Jennie Langley at the party, as they made another appeal for information on his whereabouts.
The picture shows smiling 22-year-old Michael, wearing a red fancy dress stethoscope around his neck, with his arm around Jennie in the kitchen of a friend's house in Stockport.
Police say that Michael left behind his jacket and rucksack when he suddenly walked out of the house at around 2am after seeing in the New Year with friends.
It's thought that he may have wandered into a nearby mill complex and fallen into the River Goyt.
Jennie, also 22, says Michael's disappearance is totally out of character and revealed to the Manchester Evening News how she sent him a series of text messages.
His first reply to Jennie, received by her at 2.23am on New Year’s Day, said: “At a river. No idea where to go from here.”
Michael’s second response, at 2.26am, told Jennie to get a taxi back to his house and went on: “I don’t even know how I ended up here.”
Jennie, who has been dating Michael for six months after meeting through friends, said: “I texted him a couple of times after the messages then tried to ring him. I left voicemails as it just went through to voicemail.
“I cannot think of a reason why he would leave the party. He always looks after me and sticks by me. He is sensible and was fine that night. It is all just completely out of the ordinary.
“It has been incredibly hard for me and Michael’s family. We just want him home. Please come forward with information no matter how small you think it may be.”
Jennie added: “We were really looking forward to the party because it was our first New Year’s Eve together as a couple. It was just a normal party.
“He was really happy that night and really cheerful. I last saw him at about 2am. I was sat in the dining room and he came in. Then he walked out after about a minute or two. That was the last time that I saw him. I sent him the text asking where he was but he said he had no idea of how he got there. He did not mention where the river was.”
