Sharron case is closed

POLICE have abandoned one of the most chilling and talked about missing persons cases in Queensland.
Archerfield resident Sharron Phillips was 20 years old when she vanished without a trace on May 8, 1986.
She had run out of petrol near the former Wacol migrant centre and went to use a nearby telephone box shortly before midnight.
She went missing minutes after phoning for someone to pick her up.
And while the story is one many locals talk about to this day, police have given up hope of ever knowing what happened to her body.
Police have refused to speak about her disappearance for this year’s National Missing Persons Week.
A Police Media spokeswoman said Ms Phillips’ case was not one they wanted to focus on this year.
After several phone calls to other police units, the Southern Star could not find anyone who wanted to talk about the case.
In the 20 years since her disappearance, police have followed several leads of inquiry to no avail. A widespread police search has failed to find the body.
In Queensland, an average of 4500 people are reported missing each year.

Because no screams were reported lets assume that Sharon was picked up by somebody she knew. So, who do you call for help when your car runs out of petrol/breaks down.
1- partner, Sharon was single
2- racq, sharon obviously was not in the racq because she didnt ring them.
3- family, she didn't ring them.
4- A friend, Sharon rang a new male friend whom unsuccessfully tried to help.
5- A Mechanic, WHO WAS SHARONS MECHANIC?
Is it that Sharron knew her killer? Or is it possible that the person/persons could have looked trustworthy? Possibly reminded her of the males in her life?
We have at some time in our lives, broken down. As a woman, depending on the breakdown issue, we have had to flag down a passing motorist and ask for help.
That is when we have to put trust in our own juhgement, that we are doing the right thing.
Is it possible that this is what could have happened to Sharron?
Someone may have stopped to help her and she has willingly gotten in the vechile? They may have offered her a lift to the nearest petrol station, but instead, kept on driving to who knows where?
The possibiliteis are endless.
No I don't believe she would have got in anyone's car. She called a male friend it says on Crime stoppers and he said he had a flat tire and wasn't sure which phone booth to pick her up from. So no way she would have got in a car with anyone else as she would have been waiting for her friend.
How many times have police known who the killers are and can't do anything because of not enough evidence I believe police have already questioned or know how has Sharron.
It's so sad. I broke down myself closer to the petrol station just 9 yrs ago. I had no mobile and was so scared was just on dark, I was on my way home from PCYC. A car stopped I was so worried it would be a man but was older people and I wasn't going to get in buy they had a 12 yr old and I got in. I had to trust they were safer than who could come along next. But I just can see that Sharron did that because she was waiting for the friend.
Sharron walked over a klm in the cold of night on the 8th of may 1986 to seek assistance and disappeared. So why was Sharrons jacket found back in her car?
May 8th 1986 was a cold night. Sharron walked over a klm to get assistance. So why was her jacket found in her car?
The reason her killer has never been found is because police did not follow up on the witnesses in this case. All the clues were there but they just didn't believe it. Go back to the start and listen to each witness carefully, put their details together and build a scenario. It should be obvious basically what took place. Soldiers lie too you know!
You wouldn't scream if somebody was in a soldiers uniform, was friendly helpful and charming and seemed so trustworthy and you had just been to their base.
yes yes yes
may 8 wasn't really cold not here in qld where we only have a few weeks of winter in july. jacket may not have been worn but bag and shoes were put there to throw police off the real search area.
What a croc!!!, May nights can be cold and very foggy especially in low lying areas like wacol, Ipswich. Many Queenslanders wear jackets in May. A proper police investigation should have revealed what the weather was like in wacol that night.
The fact is the ONLY real search area was around Sharons car, which resulted in Sharons handbag etc being found in a nearby drain. The claim it was put there to throw police off the real search area is ridiculous and just doesn't make sense. The obvious question is why the killer choose to dump Sharons bag there in the first place when he could have just as easily disposed of it. This was likely the killers only mistake. The handbag etc is prime evidence and quite possibly the key to solving this case.
Most murders are commited by persons known to the victim. Sharon was most probably murdred by someone she was intimate with.
Contrary to missleading police and newspaper reports to date. There is no evidence to support the claim that this was a crime of opportunity. However, the evidence does suggest that Sharon was possibly murdered by someone she knew. It also reveals the likely motive, Jealousy. Sharon had a new beau.
Was Sharon murdered when her current or ex boyfriend found out about her new beau? Reveal whom Sharons current or ex boyfriend was and help catch Sharons killer.
He picked Sharon up. Found out about the new beau and murdered Sharon in a jealous rage. He then returned to Sharons car to remove any incriminating evidence, disposing of her handbag etc in a nearby drain. Simple as that.
Well,it's 28 years to the day and police are no closer in finding her.Maybe one day a death bed confession by someone who was involved or knows what happened will solve the case.RIP Sharon, you'll never be forgotten xx .
