BORIS VAK
Boris Vak, then aged 41, was reported missing on 29 April 2007 after not meeting one of his children for their 11th birthday. He immigrated to Australia after arriving in Sydney in 1995.
Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Acting Inspector Michael Todd ,said Mr Vak’s disappearance was considered out of character and police held fears for his safety.
“Investigators are following all lines of inquiries and have not ruled out foul play,” Detective Acting Inspector Todd said.
“Recently detectives from within the Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command have been reviewing the original investigation and are renewing appeals for public information. “He was a resident in a boarding house in Denham Street, Surry Hills at the time he was last seen.
“We consider Mr Vak’s disappearance to be out of character as we have been unable to identify a valid reason he has not been seen. He has a number of friends and acquaintances in the Bondi Junction area.
Anyone with information on Mr Vak’s whereabouts or his disappearance is urged to contact Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. All information will be treated in strict confidence.
