$10K reward to find Cycle Oregon volunteeradd to reading list
RIDDLE, Ore. -- The wife of a missing Cycle Oregon volunteer is pleading with the public to help bring him home.
Mark Bosworth, 54, of Portland, was reportedly last seen walking along a road between Riddle and Canyonville early Saturday morning. He was not familiar with the area, according to his wife.
"We do believe he is confused, and we know he doesn’t have any ID on him," said Julie Bosworth. "So approach him if you see him, look at his picture, hold it in your mind and spread it around."
While the searching has been focused on the Riddle area, now friends and co-workers decided to also put the spotlight on Portland.
They posted dozens of flyers with Bosworth's photo and description in the Lloyd Center area.
"We need to make sure people are recognizing his face and seeing him absolutely everywhere," said family friend Jamie Fletcher.
Bosworth's home is in Northeast Portland and some thought maybe he may have tried to hitchhike back here.
"I think he loves Portland. He is from here and I think he feels most comfortable here and so our inclination is that he's made his way back and he's just really looking for us," said co-worker Leila Aman.
"We know that Mark wants to come home, this is a guy who loves his family, loves his home, loves his community and he is looking for us, too, as best he can," his wife added. "We're just asking the community to watch out for him and bring him home."
Riddle area searched thoroughly
Previously, a busload of Cycle Oregon volunteers joined a helicopter, boats, ATVs and ground crews Tuesday and Wednesday in the Riddle area to search for him.
"Since we've searched so carefully in the immediate region," his wife said, "we are thinking it is quite possible that Mark traveled out of the region, perhaps crossing state lines, maybe hitchhiking."
A $10,000 reward was also offered for information that helps find Bosworth, but as of Thursday searchers had found any evidence of his whereabouts.

Bosworth was described as 6’ tall, about 180 lbs, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt, black pants when he was last seen.
A Major Crimes Team was investigating, but foul play was not suspected. Anyone with information was asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at (541) 440-4464.
