On Thursday Toledo Police removed a box containing human remains from a garage near the home of Steven King, which is located at 704 Federal Street in east Toledo.
An exclusive Toledo News Now source with knowledge of the investigation said investigators removed a package from a garage in an alley off Prentice Street in east Toledo. The person could not say what was in the package, but said it was turned over to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
Lucas County Coroner James Patrick confirmed just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday that the box did contain human remains. He says Dr. Diane Barnett, Deputy Lucas County Coroner was with Police when the remains were found. Dr. Patrick says those remains will be autopsied Friday morning.
The Toledo News Now source said Steven King was removed from the Lucas County Jail Thursday afternoon and was at the Safety Building talking with police.
Toledo police say they executed a search warrant at the King residence based on new information received Thursday. They will hold a press conference Friday based on the results of this search.
King is the estranged boyfriend of Angela Steinfurth, mother of missing 1-year-old Elaina Steinfurth.
Baby Elaina's father, Terry Steinfurth Jr., says he received a call form a Federal Street resident and spread the word to family members about the active investigation.
Forensics were at the scene Thursday and officials were looking through items in the garage.http://m.toledonewsnow.com/autojuice?targetUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.toledonewsnow.com%2Fstory%2F23352708%2Fpolice-searching-area-near-steven-kings-home-on-federal-street

The Toledo Police Department and others today held the news conference to discuss new breaks in the case of the missing baby, who was last seen at 704 Federal St. about three months ago. Police found a computer box containing the suspected human remains in a detached garage at that address Thursday.

n Ohio grand jury indicted Angela Steinfurth Monday for murder in the death of her 18-month-old daughter, Elaina. Steinfurth's ex-boyfriend, Steven King, was also indicted on charges of aggravated murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, according to the grand jury report released Monday.
Elaina Steinfurth, widely known as “baby Elaina” since her disappearance, was reported missing from an East Toledo, Ohio, home -- a house owned by King's family -- on June 2. Angela Steinfurth initially said she last saw Elaina when she put the 18-month-old down for a nap that day.http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/12/02/baby-elaina-mom-angela-steinfurth-indicted-muder
