Friends and relatives of Crystal Dupuis Grebinger, who has been missing since February, are asking for volunteers this weekend to assist in a foot search in St. Martin Parish.
Along with walking teams, volunteers are encouraged to bring their boats and ATVs to help comb areas that are hard to reach on foot.
The specific meeting location will be announced once a volunteer head count has been conducted, Grebinger’s aunt Jeanne Savoy said Thursday.
“We haven’t received any new information about the investigation,” Savoy said. “Right now, we are just trying to be proactive and get out there.”
Each search will start at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers who plan to participate are asked to respond to a “I will attend” post on the Help Find Crystal Dupuis Grebinger Facebook page. Updates will also be posted on the page, Savoy said.
Grebinger’s missing persons case was recently featured on Lafayette Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for new information on the case. The family is offering a $10,000 reward for new information on her whereabouts.
Lafayette police reported that the mother of four was last seen leaving the Faith House women’s shelter in Lafayette on Feb. 8. Authorities said the case remains under investigation but that there are no persons of interest at this time.
Grebinger, 32, is a native of Breaux Bridge who had been living in Faith House while she was going through a divorce. To date, we have yet to find Crystal. We have not had any new leads or tips. She is still missing, she is still a part of our lives, we are not forgetting, we are not giving up, we are just a little misdirected right now. We pray that someone or something in the investigation comes to light so we can find her, get closure, prosecute her assailants and put this nightmare behind us.
