JANE, ARNNA AND GRANT BEAUMONT
Grant, Arnna and Jane Beaumont left their home at 10 am on January 26th, 1966, to go to the beach. From their home in the Adelaide suburb of Somerton Park, they caught a bus to nearby Glenelg beach. They were expected to return home on the noon bus, but didn't. Between the time the children left home, and the time that they should have left the beach to come home, they were seen by at least 7 people. Five of these people saw the children with a man, but the last saw nobody with them.
A woman reported she was sitting on a seat on the sea side of the sailing club when she saw two girls and a boy come up from the sea after a swim. What attracted her attention later was a tall, blond-haired man who had started talking to the children. The three children had gone over to him and he was laughing and encouraging them as they played.
Neither the children nor the man have ever been seen again. In the following days and weeks, a massive search was mounted for the children. Not a single thing was found.

Hi Empathy, the Beaumont children mystery still haunts a lot of people in Australia even after all these years. My mother once told me that this was a turning point in society and for families in particular. She describes this as when "Australia lost its innocence". In 2012 we think its shocking that three young children were permitted to go to the beach alone, but apparanty this was the "norm" back then and children here were just free to roam - the parents rules (including mine) was just to be home before it got dark. I grew up when this was all over the news and remember it well, it still is mentioned every Australia Day (the anniversary). I believe both the mother and father have both since died, never knowing what happened to their 3 precious children, Kate x
Hello Kate, yes it was not uncommon for children to feel safe in the past, people would leave their doors on latches too and never think for one minute anyone would walk in. Times have changed for all. I am still ploughing through requests but I will certainly try to look at this case if I have time to do so.
I feel sorry for the parents, how sad to leave earth and not know what happened to your own brood:(
No doubt they both died with broken hearts, Kate x
Their father has died but their mother is alive and well.
Another tear shed for these 3 children as Australia sits and faces another anniversary of these missing kids. 50 years this year. Mum & Dad are still alive and in their late 80's and early 90's. Please could you look at this before these parents leave this planet. There was some people stating the dad was in a pedophile ring which would be nice to bust before he leaves this earth if true.
Hi Empathy, Is there any way you could look into this devastating case? Their parents are still alive. A site that was previously searched is currently being re-examined (began a few days ago). Everyone hopes for their parents to know before they pass over. Thank you.
