Suffolk County police are asking the public’s help in finding a man who went missing while he was being transported from Stony Brook University Medical Center to Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brentwood four days ago.
When 46-year-old Dennis Shepherd arrived at the psychiatric center around 10:15 a.m. on May 18, he jumped out of the vehicle he was being transported in and ran into the woods in Brentwood, police said.
He could be a danger to himself, police said in a news release.
Shepherd is described as white with blue eyes and short, spiked blonde hair. He is 6-foot-2 and 190 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, light grey pants and tan sneakers.
Police are asking anyone with information on Shepherd to call missing persons at 631-852-6044.
