ALTOONA, Fla. -- Authorities say a woman is missing after last being seen on Railroad Grade Road in the Altoona area of Lake County.
Lacey Marie Buenfil, 21, was with an acquaintance Tuesday when reportedly the vehicle they were riding in became stuck in the sand and Buenfil decided to walk rather than wait for help, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
As of Thursday, Buenfil has not arrived back at her house. Detectives say they are are currently searching the area of Railroad Grade Road, using the Sheriff’s Office helicopter, bloodhounds and agricultural deputies, as it is a heavily wooded area in the Ocala National Forest.
Buenfil is described as a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is approximately 5-foot-1-inch tall and weighs 90 pounds.
Anyone with information regarding Buenfil’s whereabouts or who has been in contact with her within the last two days is urged to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 352-343-2101 or a local law enforcement agency.
