(CALDWELL COUNTY, Mo.) The Caldwell County Sheriff's Department is waiting to find if the bones they found Sunday night belong to a woman missing since last year.

Sheriff Jerry Galloway released a press statement Monday after crews searched an area close to where Carol Jo Thompson of Lathrop was first reported missing on June 15, 2012.

Authorities were called to the southwest portion of the county after receiving a call that skeletal remains had been found.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Cameron Police Department, and the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department have been assisting with the investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled for the remains.http://stjoechannel.com/fulltext?nxd_id=337092
